SESA at Embedded World 2018

From February 27 to March 1, 2018 Socionext Embedded Software Austria (SESA) will be attending the Embedded World in Nuremberg, Germany presenting the latest technology in Embedded HMI design. At booth 4-479 in hall 4 SESA will showcase its flagship, the Cecil hypervisor HMI demo and further solutions that perfectly match the current HMI and GUI trends. Demonstrations will include a range of in-vehicle solutions including:

Functional Safety Demo

Functional safety becomes more and more important for graphical user interfaces. At Embedded World SESA will present a safety critical cluster design demo, developed in cooperation with Mentor, a Siemens Business. This demo showcases the separation between an advanced automotive cluster HMI application, implemented using CGI Studio, and safety-critical digitally displayed tell-tale warning indicators. It addresses the challenge of mixing safety-critical and non-critical information on a single instrument cluster display while satisfying essential safety requirements for automotive certification such as ISO 26262, up to ASIL B.

Android Demo

The use of “Nomadic Devices” or portable devices within the vehicle by a driver is increasing and with it the importance that HMI tools can deal with these special platforms and operation systems. At Embedded World SESA will present an Android demo based on CGI Studio to prove that CGI Studio is ready for these „targets of the next generation“. The CGI Studio Android demo will also include features like touch interaction or rotation changes. It also shows that keeping flexibility in your projects and changing Hardware or Software platform can be very easy.

Cecil Demo based on Hypervisor

Automotive HMIs have to meet several different requirements. However, sometimes the difference between what is important for driving and what isn’t has begun to blur. One technology that helps to divide safety-critical attributes from infotainment and comfort features into two heterogeneous systems is the hypervisor. Based on this principle Socionext Embedded Software Austria and Mentor, a Siemens Business, have developed a hypervisor-based version of the „Cecil demo”, a multiscreen demo created with Socionext‘s HMI tool „CGI Studio“ and embedded software components from Mentor.

The above mentioned and other interesting demos will be showcased at the SESA booth 4-479 in hall 4.

Presentation at the exhibitor’s forum

Wednesday 28, at 11:30, SESA will also be available at the Embedded World exhibitor’s forum in hall 4 talking about current trends in development and usage of automotive HMI tools.
